about the farm
This micro-lot coffee comes from Mwasa Washing Station, tucked into the hills of West Nyamasheke in Rwanda's Western Province. Founded in 2006, Mwasa is one of the few truly cooperative-owned stations in the country — built and run by a group of ten local farmers who together manage close to 100,000 Bourbon coffee trees. Grown at 1,636 meters above sea level and harvested between March and June, the cherries are wet-fermented, pulped, and sun-dried on raised beds — The result is a clean, balanced cup with bright citrus acidity, chocolate depth, a buttery body, and a syrupy finish.
